Amazon's Smart Home Devices are available with big discounts for Prime Day 2022. Choose from individual devices or save more with bundles.

Prime Day 2022 is about to kick off, and Amazon's various smart home devices are available with some fantastic discounts. Amazon has been one of the pioneers in the smart home market. It first brought its Alexa voice assistant to Echo speakers in 2014, and since then, has expanded into several other categories including Echo Show smart displays, Fire TV streaming devices, smart thermostats, smart plugs, and smart wearables like earbuds and glasses.

Since Alexa works across all these devices, they're all tied into the same ecosystem and linked to a user's Amazon account. In a smart home, it's possible to set up multiple Echo speakers and Echo Show smart displays, and take advantage of multi-room to play music across all the devices. Users can also use Drop In to make announcements on one or all Echo devices, and even sync reminders and alarms. When other smart devices like thermostats and plugs are added to a smart home with Echo speakers, it's possible to control all of these from a single app or by giving Alexa a voice command.

On Prime Day 2022, Amazon's various smart home devices are discounted by up to 67 percent. The Amazon Smart Plug is available for $12.99 (down from $24.99), Smart Thermostat is $41.99 (down from $59.99), and Smart Thermostat with a C-Wire Power Adapter is $56.98 (down from $84.98). The Echo Dot 4th-gen smart speakers bundled with a Smart Plug are down to just $24.99 (down from $74.98). The Echo Glow kids smart lamp is discounted to $16.99 (down from $29.99) or can be bundled with an Echo Dot Kids for $35.99 (usually $89.98). Other discounted bundles include an Echo Show 5 2nd-gen Kids and Echo Glow for $50.99 (down from $124.98), Echo Show 5 2nd-gen with Smart Thermostat for $76.98 (down from $144.98), and Echo Dot 4th-gen with Smart Thermostat for $61.98 (down from $109.98). There are even more Amazon smart home device deals and bundles to check out for Prime Day 2022.

While a top-end Echo smart speaker or Echo Show smart display adds value to a smart home, users on a budget can look at the Echo Dot or Echo Show 5 if they want multiple Alexa-enabled speakers around the house. When either of these speakers are paired with other Alexa smart devices, users can use voice commands to turn appliances on and off or change settings, without having to open the Alexa app on their smartphone.

Amazon's Smart Plug can be used for devices like lamps, table fans, coffee makers, humidifiers, and electric kettles. Users can set up schedules to turn appliances on and off at specific times each day, or remotely control them when away from home. The Smart Plug can also be used to set up holiday lighting, turning on the lights when users are travelling to make it look like someone's home. The smart plug doesn't need a hub to function, and while it can be controlled using an app, it also works with any Alexa-enabled smart speaker, not just Amazon-branded ones.

As for the Smart Thermostat, it can automatically set temperatures to suit a user's preferences, or can be manually adjusted using the app or a compatible Alexa speaker. It's easy to set up, but needs a C-wire power adapter which can be bought as part of a bundle or separately. For users who want to add a smart light for their kids' room, the Echo Glow can be used to set up lighting cues for bedtime or dinnertime, or be used as a rainbow timer for routines. It can also change color or work as a dance party companion with flashing colorful lights. Whether a user wants to add a specific device to their smart home or go all out, there are plenty of deals to choose from this Prime Day 2022.
